About me

First things first: I constantly get the question "How do you get Kate from Karen?" Aside from both names having the very best letter of the alphabet as the first letter, my grandfather's nickname for me has always been Kate or Katie May. And now you know. ;)

Moving right along, I live in Somerville (but only a 10 minute walk from Harvard Square!) and work at Abcam Inc, a biotech company that sells antibodies. I work in tech support and get questions about antibodies and how to use them in experiments all day. It's fun, and I like using my brain all day!

I'm awfully fond of this guy right here (I don't know who that crazy lady is). This would be Jon, the awesomest, bestest, handsomest, nicest, sweetest, cutest, smartest fiance ever. I know, ladies. You'd like to be all up ons, but he's taken. ;)

I went to RPI and learned aaaaallllllll about biochemistry and biophysics. Science! Science again! I was in Pep Band (yeah yeah, I'm a band geek) and made the best friends of my life there. I was also in orchestra, and helped start a chemistry club... Yeah, I'm just digging the geek hole deeper, I know. S'ok, I'm in touch with my geekitude. And nerditude.

So. What else? Ummmm... I like music. And video games. And beer. And hanging out with friends. Reading and knitting make me happy. Also, I spend way too much time online. Yup, that's about right. :)
