So in summer of 2027, a swath of the Earth from southern Europe to northern Africa and the southern Middle East will see the longest total solar eclipse until 2132.
Totality will sweep across Morocco, Spain, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Somalia. At the point of longest totality, the moon will blot out the sun for an incredible 6 minutes and 23 seconds.
And we will be at the spot of totalest totality near Luxor, Egypt for it!!!
We’re going with a tour company, which I’m normally not thrilled about but felt safer in this case. We will get to see Cairo and the Giza plateau, Alexandria, Aswan, Luxor, and Hurghada.
