This past Friday, we got to witness an incredible light show outside. We’ve been seeing massive X-class solar flares from a massive sunspot complex the width of 17 Earths, and one even came with a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). All of this energy makes for amazing light shows, along with some high-frequency radio signal disruption.
On Friday, I went outside into our back yard to look north, and I saw a hazy light. I was pretty sure this was the Aurora Borealis, but I took a few photos while I waited for my eyes to adjust to the dark. Turns out, yes, it was the northern lights.
I decided to drive up north to see if I could get a better look. It started getting cloudy, so I turned back around. On a lark, I went to the lake in town and got to see an absolutely gorgeous show. I also chatted with another person who was there to watch the lights.
