It’s been a while since I posted an update about progress on my Rebel Badges, mostly because I kind of took a break. But to finish off one of my badges (and patches!), I need to showcase my passion, for which I’ve chosen crafting.

I love making things of all kinds. Knitting, crochet, cross stitch, painting, pottery, jewelry, scrapbooking (but only digital, I kind of hate paper scrapbooking)… you name it, I’ve probably got a small collection of materials upstairs to make it, lol. It makes me happy to use my hands and get something cool at the end.

Knitting

Recently I’ve been working mostly on shawls. I’ve been doing some mystery knit-alongs, and that’s been fun. Here are some of the things I’ve been working on in the past 6 months or so.

Pottery

I only recently discovered my love for throwing pottery. I started taking classes in 2022 and it was love at first sight. I’ve made some pretty janky stuff, but I’ve been happier lately with what I’m making now that I’ve got several classes under me (I’m currently taking my 4th class). Here are a few of my favorites from my previous class.

Cross Stitch

I recently started cross-stitching again after a long while. I got a bookmark kit with scenes from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings on them and am slowly working my way through them (I’ve completed Hobbiton and The Doors of Durin, and am currently working on Smaug). I have a larger piece I was working on a while ago that I really should get back to.

Scrapbooking

As I mentioned in a previous post, I created a scrapbook for our trip to New Zealand last August. It was a lot of work, but I’m happy with the end result.

And there you have it – what I’ve been passionate about recently. 😊
